A surgeon in scub attire peers through the occulars of an operating room microscope. The light from the instrument illuminates a dome - the symbol of one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world.
On 12/21/00, this relief panel was presented as a gift to Dr. Rafael J. Tamargo. It was unveiled at a special presentation that I was invited to make at the Department of Neurosurgery Grand Rounds. Dr Tamargo is the Co-Director, Division of Vascular Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. It has been a great honor to work with him and his team and observe their skill and dedication in helping their patients. This panel is one inch thick, measures 39 inches wide by 35 inches in height and weighs 90 pounds. I am honored to report that Dr. Tamargo has placed this work in the hallway between the Neurosurgical operating rooms and the NCCU in the Meyer building at the Hospital, (7th floor).
